Kanga/Leso 1011

Kanga or Leso is a very common vibrant and colorful cotton fabric traditionally worn by women in East Africa. It is a versatile garment that holds cultural value with intricate designs, recurring motifs and Swahili proverbs or religious sayings. Lesos are embedded in the East African culture and are a symbol of identity, freedom, fashion, confidence, beauty and respect. They can used as wraps around the waist, head, shoulders or to wrap babies as they are carried behind an adults' back. A leso can also be gifted to convey love, respect or encouragement.
